Arun Divers was founded in 1972 and is affiliated to the Sub Aqua Association (SAA). It is a club run on a voluntary basis by the members whose principal aim is for members to have enjoyable varied diving in as safe a manner as possible at an economic cost. Club night is Monday.
Members meet between 8.30pm and 10.30pm on Monday evenings at Worthing Aquarena.
For new members Arun Divers operates a "mentor" system. Each new member is assigned a mentor; who's job is to ensure the member has a direct contact to guide them in the right direction for training and diving expeditions.
The club has its own 6.5m rib which is based in Littlehampton Marina. The marina has its own slipway and launching facilities to provide access to water, simplifying dive preparations. The ease of accessibility means early risers can go diving at the start of the day, before they go to work. This is probably one of the best times to go, as it is a good time for catching both night time and day time creatures active in the same dive.
For those not given to early rising, evening dives are a more favoured option, with the occasional homeward escort of a dolphin. Weekends provide the facility for more leisurely or remote dives and the opportunity to enjoy a full day at sea.
